«Wine and tour like a Cretan»

The “Wines of Crete” team organized a unique oenotouristic experience for some special wine people that visited Crete during September. The project was called “Wine and tour like a Cretan”. Our guests, Conrad, Australian blogger from the Wine Wankers and John Karakasis MW & Gregory Michailos AIWS had the chance to visit wineries and vineyards all over the island and to meet the PDO wines zones in Crete. They tasted labels from 31 Wineries, members of the “Wines of Crete” wine association. The wine tastings took place at vineyards and wineries. The Cretan wines were combined with the famous Cretan cuisine and combining a full gastronomic experience. You can find photos from this fam trip HERE.

Seminar “The five sences and the Cretan Wine”

“Wines of Crete” team organized a special seminar for the 1st Conference of the Senses and Tasting in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. The presentation started with Stella Astirakaki, the project manager of “Wines of Crete” who referred to the history and actions of the Cretan wine Association. Then the wine tasting began through a journey of tastes, aromas, colors and of five different one varietal wines with Manolis Stafilakis oenologist from Ktima Toplou and Yannis Stilianou, presenting the characteristics of these Cretan varieties and their unique tastes.

Harvest in Crete has been completed! The new Cretan wines are being prepared!

Wines of Crete at the “We do local” event.

“Wines of Crete” participated with wine tasting of Cretan varieties and wines around the island at the event from the company “We do local” that took place at Agios Nikolaos. The cooperation with the “We do Local company that started at OINOTIKA 2015, continues till today.
