Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iraklion
The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iraklion holds an important position in the wine sector in the prefecture of Iraklion. It owns wineries in Dafnes, Arkalochori and a modern bottling wine in Malades. Recently a new modern winery in position Paliani, Heraklion was completed so as to replace older facilities.
The purpose of creating these new facilities was that the winery was equipped with the latest technology with a view to improving the quality of the products of the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Ιraklion.
In an area of 50000 sqm, a fusion takes place amongst modern wine-making techniques, the tradition of Cretan wine-making and the beauty of art and its masterpieces on-site.
It is a modern bottling plant with a capacity of 3000 bottles / hour; it has a stainless steel tank capacity of 2000 tons and 400 oak barrels for aging red wine.
The Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iraklion operates since 1927. Our production activities involve the standardization, bottling and distribution in the world markets of agricultural products (wine, olive oil, vinegar and table grapes).
Wine is one of the goods that Cretan soil gives generously.
Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iraklion has wineries in Dafnes and Arkalohori.
In 2007, in an effort to modernize facilities so as to improve the quality of products, the organization completed construction of the new modern winery in position Paliani in Heraklion in an area of 50 acres.
These new facilities are equipped with the latest technology and this helps the Organization offer the consumers superior quality products.
