Douloufakis Winery
Sangiovese
The winemaker draws the inspiration for this wine, from Italy where he studied enology at Wine School Umberto I in town Alba, in Piemonte.
He planted Sangiovese when he returned back in Crete, trying to experiment with international varieties.
It reflects the creativity of the winemaker and the unique cretan terroir.
This blend of Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon offers up mildly spicy notes enhanced by nuances of tobacco, cherry, dark chocolate and Cretan herbs on the nose. Medium -to full- bodied with a dense, chewy structure; moderate tannins, a complex black-fruit-dominated palate and terrific length.
